Fighter World has been recognized for one of its latest innovative displays by Museums and Galleries of NSW. Minister for Early Childhood Education and Aboriginal Affairs, Assistant Minister for Education Hon Leslie Williams MP, presented the award at a ceremony held at the Verge Gallery in Sydney. The Ejection Seat display was conceived and constructed in-house by volunteers and local manufacturer Nelson Bay Steel Fabrications with assistance from Diva Works and Touch Screen Solutions – Sydney and Sound Environment – Melbourne. Martin Baker UK provided information, photographs and movies to support the display. Vice President Dick Coleman said that the display demonstrated the coming of age of regional museums that were capable of providing exhibitions on par with their big city counterparts. He went on to say that following Fighter World’s success in the annual Port Stephens Examiner Business Awards the recognition by Museums and Galleries NSW is an indication of just how good this local tourist attraction really is.
